Lawn Games

Summer is the perfect time to host events outside! Lawn games are always a hit and keep your guests entertained, even if they are just watching. If you want your party to go on for hours provide games for your guests to play! Our personal favorite lawn game, Corn Hole. To add an Olympic twist, create a bracket and have medals for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd! {Gold chocolate coins perhaps!?}

Wedding Programs :: Do I need one?

Deciding if you need a wedding program or not is 100% up to the bride and groom. Programs are a chance to really be fun and creative or elegant and traditional. They really add that extra special touch to your wedding day! They are a welcome addition to your wedding ceremony and provide your guests with an overview of how the ceremony and or reception will proceed, is a chance to introduce your wedding party {so grandma isn't talking during the ceremony asking who each groomsmen and bridesmaid are!}, say a special thank you, or honor family & friends.

Do I need a program for every single guest?

Chances are no, especially if your head count includes children. If you are planning on having your programs set out on chairs or church pews for your guests plan on every other seat, couples can share. If you are offering a more unique style of program, like a fan, typically we would recommend one per guest. That way each guest can actually use the fan. Having your photographer take a photo of your guests using their fans is also a fun photo op! {don't forget to order and set a couple programs aside for yourself to keep!}

What do I put on my program?

Wedding programs are a great place to include personal comments and information about the history of the couple or to explain any specific religious or cultural aspects of the ceremony. Your program can be as simple or as detailed as you wish. It can be a single page or an entire brochure, it’s up to you! The program is a great place to express your personality and have some fun. Programs can include a list of the music that will be played before, during and after the ceremony, and even the lyrics to songs played. It’s a good place to share a poem that has special meaning to the couple, or a favorite quotation or bible verse. A good general guideline to follow is to start with an introduction, then list the ceremony order, the wedding party and their relationship to the couple, and close with a note of thanks.

We offer a Wedding Program Guide on our website that is a downloadable PDF that has wording and suggested items to include, as well as a sample layout.

We offer several styles of programs {tall, folding, fan, 5x7} as well as a custom option, so you are sure to find something that fits your needs and budget if you decide a program is a good fit for your event!

Real Wedding :: Courtney & Jason

Courtney & Jason got married June 30, 2012 outside at Shady Oaks Farm in Cottage Grove, Oregon. {see Courtney's bridal shower here} If anyone knows Oregon in June you'll know that the weather is not dependable, and unfortunately while wedding setup was taking place, it poured. It was pretty stressful trying to decide what to do - but rain or shine, the wedding must go on! The wedding was set for 6 o'clock and around 5 the weather cleared up and even a hint of sunshine came out and the stressful morning turned into a beautiful afternoon for a wedding!

I had the pleasure of creating Courtney & Jason's wedding invitations and helping set up decor on their wedding day. Courtney is very classic/rustic-chic/vintage-antique/timeless. Her wedding colors were gray & yellow with natural elements of burlap, wood, and wildflowers. The wedding was exactly Courtney (& Jason).

The Invites

For their invites they choose a natural linen paper with gray and yellow ink. The set was wrapped in a doily with a burlap band, held closed with a petite yellow ribbon with a custom monogrammed tag hanging down, tied with a bow. Everything matched the event theme perfectly and the invites set the tone for what guests could expect at the wedding. This invite set was a custom order with rounded corners & additional embellishments.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was sweet & personal, Courtney's brother Nick officiated. The isle was lined with mason jars hanging from shepherds hooks wrapped in burlap and ribbon. The backdrop was a beautiful clematis covered arbor with a backdrop of burlap.

{The centerpieces were an eclectic mix of old vases and bottles filled with a beautiful mix of flowers all stacked on and around a wood round on a burlap square that was overlapping a gray tablecloth}
{I love this picture - totally captured the fun moment of smashing cake into the grooms face}
{instead of a traditional wedding cake, Courtney & Jason offered guests a full range of sweets including cupcakes, cookies, brownies, bars, and cheesecake all displayed on a mix of new and old cake plates & platters. It was a beautiful set up - & delicious! (I think I had one of everything!)}

The day may have started off rainy, but in the end you couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. The wedding was beautiful and Courtney & Jason got to celebrate their love with family and friends. Congratulations C&J - I'm so happy that I was able to be a part of this special event! Wishing you guys all the happiness in the world!
